Gastronomy

As a child Marly van der Sluis accompanied her mother in her hotel. Her father was a building contractor and restored old properties. So began her love for the hotel trade and old houses which have wound like a thread through her whole life.

After first hesitantly setting up a small restaurant in Spain she moved to Germany.
After ten years of hard work, running her own concerns, she was finally crowned with success: a Michelin star.
She has also written many cook-books.

After a short spell in Holland, where she set up yet another business, she came in contact with the owner of La Chaume. Result: head over heels in love with the house and its surroundings.
There she has 2 gîtes and a chambre d’hôte where she now receives her guests on a small scale.
As plus-points to a stay in La Chaume, she would add the quiet, the space and the comfort and enjoying a well-prepared dinner in her cosy conservatory, a lunch on the patio and if desired a well laid out breakfast in the gîte or in the chambre.
